Question 1

Why do you charge a setup fee?

Accepted Answer

Because the setup is real work: discovery, a written agent spec you sign off, the build, testing and a staged go-live. Charging for it once keeps the monthly price honest.

Question 2

What counts as a minute?

Accepted Answer

Time your agent spends on calls. Our test calls are flagged and never count.

Question 3

Why US dollars?

Accepted Answer

We price in US dollars for every customer, wherever you’re based, so there’s one price list for everyone.

Question 4

Do your prices include VAT or other taxes?

Accepted Answer

No. Every price on this site excludes VAT and other taxes. Where tax applies, we add it to your invoice at the rate that applies.

Question 5

Am I locked in?

Accepted Answer

Your number and your CRM sit in accounts in your name. If you leave, they stay with you, along with your call history.

Question 6

Can I start on Starter and move up later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your number and call history stay put when you move to a managed plan. The managed setup covers the bespoke build.

Question 7

Does the agent take payments?

Accepted Answer

No. It never takes card details over the phone. A secure pay-by-link text is on our roadmap.

Question 8

Do I have to change my phone number?

Accepted Answer

No. You forward your existing number to your agent. Most businesses start with busy and unanswered calls only.

Question 9

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Starter agents are usually built within a day of your form. Bespoke agents take from about a day to a few weeks, depending on the plan and your integrations.

Question 10

Why start with out-of-hours calls?

Accepted Answer

Because those are calls you’d miss anyway. You get to hear your agent working, and we review every call, before it handles your daytime calls.

Question 11

What if my agent goes down?

Accepted Answer

You choose a fallback at onboarding: forward calls to your phone, email you, or use a backup number on managed plans.

Question 12

Will callers know it’s an AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every call opens with a short message saying it’s an automated assistant, and that the call is recorded and why. Callers can ask for a person at any time.

Question 13

What happens with urgent calls?

Accepted Answer

You set the rules for what counts as urgent. Those calls reach you or your on-call person straight away. Everything else waits in your morning brief.

Question 14

Are calls recorded?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and callers hear that at the start of every call. Recordings and transcripts are deleted after 30 days, and reports run on anonymised counts.

Question 15

Will this replace our receptionist?

Accepted Answer

No. It’s built to take the calls your team can’t reach, the after-hours calls and the repetitive follow-ups, so your people can focus on the conversations that need them.

Question 16

Can callers still reach a person?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If a caller asks for a person, the agent offers to help once, then hands over on the second ask.

Question 17

Which plan suits a front desk team?

Accepted Answer

Usually Small or Medium: you’ll want the CRM integration, Reach for reminders, and on Medium, live listen-in for your team leads.

Question 18

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There’s no charge and no obligation. If your phone is answered well, the report will say so.

Question 19

Will you tie up my phone line?

Accepted Answer

No. We make a handful of short calls over a few days.

Question 20

What happens to my details?

Accepted Answer

We use them to run the audit and send the report, and keep them as a business contact. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Question 21

How much do partners earn?

Accepted Answer

A percentage of what each referred client pays. We share the current rates when you apply.

Question 22

Do I need to sell or support anything?

Accepted Answer

No. You make the introduction. We run the audit, the sale, the build and the support.

Question 23

Can I refer clients in the UK and the US?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with service businesses in both.

Question 24

How long do you keep recordings and transcripts?

Accepted Answer

30 days, then they’re deleted. Anonymised counts, such as how many calls came in on a Tuesday, are kept so your reports still work.

Question 25

Do test calls use up my minutes?

Accepted Answer

No. Every test call is flagged on its record and left out of your minutes and your reports.

Question 26

Where do I see my calls?

Accepted Answer

In your VoiceNiche dashboard. Summaries also arrive by email, or in your CRM on managed plans.

Question 27

Can the morning brief come at a different time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. 7 a.m. is the default. Tell us what suits your day and we’ll move it.

Question 28

Will callers know they’re talking to AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every call opens by saying it’s an automated assistant and that the call is recorded. It’s the right way to do it, and in many places it’s the law.

Question 29

Can it take card payments?

Accepted Answer

No. Your agent never takes card details over the phone. A secure pay-by-link text is on our roadmap.

Question 30

What happens if it gets something wrong?

Accepted Answer

Every call is logged, and on managed plans every call is scored. Problems are flagged, and your account manager tunes the agent every month.

Question 31

Can it sound like my business?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We choose the voice and write the greeting, tone and wording around your business, and you sign off the spec before we build.

Question 32

Which details can callers verify with?

Accepted Answer

Any combination that suits your records: name and date of birth, phone number, postcode, or a customer number.

Question 33

Can some actions skip the check?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You might let anyone book a new appointment but require a check to cancel one. Every action gets its own rule.

Question 34

What does the AI decide?

Accepted Answer

It works out what the caller wants. Whether that’s allowed is decided by your policy, in plain code.

Question 35

Who reviews the flagged calls?

Accepted Answer

On managed plans, your account manager. They also keep your improvement log and tune your agent each month.

Question 36

Do test calls count toward my minutes?

Accepted Answer

No. Test calls are flagged and left out of your minutes and reports.

Question 37

What’s a regression test?

Accepted Answer

When we change your agent’s instructions, we replay past call patterns through the new version to check nothing that worked has broken.

Question 38

Where do the revenue figures come from?

Accepted Answer

From the job value range you give us at onboarding, applied to the calls your agent booked or captured. They’re estimates until you confirm outcomes.

Question 39

Can I add Analytics to Small?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Modules can be added individually. Ask us and we’ll quote it.

Question 40

Do reports disappear after 30 days?

Accepted Answer

No. Recordings and transcripts are deleted at 30 days, but the anonymised counts behind your reports are kept, so trends keep building.

Question 41

What’s the difference between Logs and Audit?

Accepted Answer

Logs tell you what happened on a call. Audit proves it, with an append-only record of the checks, decisions and interventions behind each call.

Question 42

Can entries be changed?

Accepted Answer

No. Entries can’t be edited after they’re written. How long they’re kept is agreed with you.

Question 43

Do smaller plans get any audit trail?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every plan includes a change history of your agent’s settings in your dashboard. The full record comes with Enterprise.

Question 44

Is GDPR compliance an extra?

Accepted Answer

No. Baseline protections come with every plan, including Starter. Enterprise adds the provable layer: audit records, identity evidence and proof of disclosure.

Question 45

Do you handle US state rules?

Accepted Answer

Yes, at onboarding. We check recording-consent and AI-disclosure rules for the states you work in before your agent goes live.

Question 46

Who are your subprocessors?

Accepted Answer

They’re listed on our Trust & data page, with what each one handles.

Question 47

Can Reach call new prospects?

Accepted Answer

No. Reach only calls your existing customers and contacts, about things they expect to hear about. Automated sales calls to strangers need prior consent, and we don’t make them.

Question 48

What if nobody answers?

Accepted Answer

You choose: try again later, send a text, or leave it. Whatever happens is logged.

Question 49

Who does the call come from?

Accepted Answer

Your business. The agent introduces itself as your automated assistant and explains why it’s calling.

Question 50

Can it tell an emergency from a routine call?

Accepted Answer

Yes, using rules you set. No heat with a vulnerable person at home can alert your on-call tech straight away; a noisy unit can wait for a booked visit.

Question 51

What does it say if someone smells gas?

Accepted Answer

Exactly what you tell it to. You approve the safety wording, and the agent reads it the same way every time before alerting you.

Question 52

Will it work with our scheduling software?

Accepted Answer

On managed plans we connect your agent to your calendar or job management tool through Zapier or a direct integration.

Question 53

Can it give advice over the phone?

Accepted Answer

Only advice you’ve approved, such as how to find and close the shut-off valve. Anything else goes to your team.

Question 54

Can it tell which jobs to call back first?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It asks your qualifying questions, such as area, job type and timing, so the best calls rise to the top of your list.

Question 55

Will it double-book my plumbers?

Accepted Answer

On managed plans it books straight into your live calendar, so it only offers slots that are free.

Question 56

Can it handle safety calls?

Accepted Answer

It reads your safety script word for word, such as telling a caller to keep away from a sparking outlet, then alerts you.

Question 57

Can it quote prices?

Accepted Answer

Only if you want it to. You can give it prices to quote, or have it take a message for anything involving money.

Question 58

I work alone. Is this for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Starter is built for exactly that: every call answered, messages sent to you, and urgent calls flagged.

Question 59

What happens when 40 people call after a storm?

Accepted Answer

They all get answered at once. No queue, no voicemail, and every call ends up on one list for your team.

Question 60

Can it handle insurance questions?

Accepted Answer

It takes the details, such as insurer, claim number and what happened, and hands them to your team. It doesn’t give insurance advice.

Question 61

Can it book inspections?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On managed plans it books straight into your calendar; on Starter it takes the request and sends it to you.

Question 62

My trade isn’t listed. Will it work?

Accepted Answer

Almost certainly. Agents are built around call patterns, such as booking, ordering, emergencies and quotes, rather than one trade. Tell us how your calls go and we’ll show you.

Question 63

Can it take orders during service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It takes the order, reads it back to confirm, and sends it to you, so nobody has to answer the phone while the kitchen is busy.

Question 64

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Starter is $299 a month plus a one-off $399 setup, with 100 minutes included. Busier lines suit a managed plan.
